Culture

The Culture Division has a very significant role to play in the maintenance, revival and preservation of our traditional knowledge, skills and values including our cultural heritage site especially in the face of climate change. Climate change is a pressing issue that affect our shore that threaten our own existence or mean of survival on our islands.

Hence as part of the Government with the support of LCDF effort to maintain our existence and safeguard our true identity on our fragile island environment, there are several adaptative strategies implemented at country level to support our livelihood especially on the three pilot islands namely Maiana, Abemama and Nonouti.  So in order to sustain the continuity of survival, there is a need to manage and sustain our land use resources including the conservation of coastal fisheries zones.
